Homemade Seafood Kimchi Jigae

Check out the awesome kimchi jigae Jeu and I worked together to make! =D

Seafood Kimchi Jigae

Nothing like some fun ethnic cooking with a friend to cure the restlessness and homesickness I’ve been hit with recently. It’s kind of strange how cathartic cooking could be, especially cooking soup. Just having the pot of stew steaming brings a calming warmth to the kitchen. We got the base down quickly with kimchi and my golden discovery of miso paste from the cabinet. Soft tender tofu was used, and we threw in some garlic, shrimp, scallops, fishballs, and bok choy. It was a melting pot of Asian delicious-ness!

I topped all this off with a scoop of fluffy jasmine rice and some good tunes on Pandora… Good food, good music, and good company is the perfect conclusion to a marvelous evening.

That looks delicious! I really enjoy the commentary as well. Catharsis isn’t a word I would normally think of when making soup, but it fits very nicely!
