Insomnia Cookies 4/20!

Insomnia cookies are $4.20 for 8 today, 4/20! This is a really good deal so I suggest if you haven’t picked it up yet, to do so immediately! Remember, they make deliveries up to 2 in the morning for all you who have the late-night munchies.

Well, I definitely took advantage of the deal, splitting it amongst 4 friends, 2 cookies each. And the truck was conveniently parked on the way back from class, the perfect scenario to pick up some afternoon snackage.

8 for $4.20!

I chose the Oatmeal Raisin and Double Chocolate Chunk, both better choices than what I had gotten last time.

I loved the Oatmeal Raisin, which had a cute little bud coming out at one end probably from cookie fusion during baking. The cookie had good oat-to-raisin proportion, although it could have done with a bit more raisin. The edges were crunchy and the center was chewy, typical of an Insomnia cookie. But the oats balanced the textures well, preventing the edges from getting too hard and the center from getting too mushy. They gave the Oatmeal Raisin a similar consistency as the White Chocolate Macadamia cookie I got last time.

The Double Chocolate Chunk was rich and chocolatey, which I prefer because as you probably all know, I’m chocolate-obsessed. However, I actually thought the Double Chocolate lost the race to Oatmeal Raisin in cookie-superbness. I mean it’s good for a decadent chocolate fix, but then again you could always just go to Naked Chocolate for that. I loved how the chocolate chunks melt smoothly into the mouth with the rich cookie.

I think part of the reason why the cookies tasted better this time is because we bought them at the truck, so they had enough cooling time. The problem with ordering the cookies is that they come immediately after baking, so you get them on the bit-too-soft side. I suggest waiting about an hour before eating if you do decide to order.
