Yes that’s right folks! FOR ONLY 99 cents + tax ($1.07), you too can enjoy a small (which actually isn’t so small) Dunkin’ Donuts iced latte. Anytime. (Well at least this is the case for the one on Chambers Street, which is also connected to Baskin Robbins.)
The flavors you can choose between are: caramel or mocha swirl. You can also ask for the latte to be hot if you don’t like them iced. (However I must warn you: the hot lattes are about half the size of the iced lattes.)
I usually get a caramel iced latte, but last week I decided to try the mocha one. So when I took my first sip, I was overcome by an odd bitterness that is quite uncharacteristic of Dunkin’ Donuts lattes.
I took another sip, and it was really sweet. At first I was very puzzled by this phenomenon, but then a mixture of common sense & chemistry hit me: I had to mix it! I mixed it until the ice-mocha-syrup-whipped cream solution became homogenized. And indeed, it tasted best like this.
Grade: taste is B, but value is A
Conclusion: I personally like the caramel better than the mocha, but it was definitely cheap enough. And also, I recommend mixing the iced lattes before drinking, for a sweet, balanced flavor. And another important Dunkin’ Donuts deal to consider: 6 donuts for $3.
Location: Map (This was the Dunkin’ Donuts I went to, but there are plenty all over the city. And also, I heard the Dunkin’ Donuts in Queens aren’t as good as the ones in the rest of NYC.)
